Yesterday, our HBS team visited a customer's factory to carry out a marking test and provide hands-on training with a 30W split-type fiber laser marking machine.

The customer needed to mark serial numbers on oilstone inspection tools used for checking the A-side surfaces of sheet metal parts. We brought the machine to the customer's site so we could test it on the actual workpieces and help the customer get familiar with its operation.

The training started with the basic steps for turning on the machine, including pressing the power button and turning the key switch. Our technical staff then walked the customer through the marking software, showing how to set the character height and width and how to use the arc text function when a curved layout is needed.

We also covered the red-light positioning system, which helps the operator check the marking position before starting the laser. Another important step was adjusting the column height to find the correct focal distance between the laser head and the workpiece. Getting the focus right is essential for achieving a good marking result.

The first settings did not immediately produce the exact result the customer wanted, so our technician made several adjustments based on the actual workpiece and the marking requirements. We changed the marking speed and laser power to control the marking depth. In general, a slower marking speed can produce a deeper mark, although the final result also depends on the power, material and other settings.

After several rounds of testing, we achieved the marking effect the customer was looking for. We then saved the completed marking file in the software so the customer could open it and use the same setup again next time, without having to recreate the serial number layout from scratch.

For this visit, the goal was not just to produce a sample. It was also to help the customer understand the steps involved in operating the machine, setting up the marking content and making basic adjustments. We were glad to get the result on the customer's own workpieces and leave them with a saved file ready for future use.

At HBS, we believe that helping customers get started with their machines is an important part of the service we provide. A successful test is useful, but making sure the customer knows how to repeat the process in daily work matters just as much.
