Unlike traditional lasers that create contrast through ablation or engraving, the key to color marking lies in using laser energy to create an extremely thin oxide film on the metal surface.
The thickness of this film (typically ranging from tens to hundreds of nanometers) causes light interference. Oxide films of varying thickness reflect specific wavelengths of light, resulting in different colors to the human eye. This process is similar to the principle by which soap bubbles or oil films on the surface of water create color.
Simply put: lasers don't "add" color; rather, they "manipulate" the metal's surface structure, causing it to naturally "display" the color.

Working Principle:
A fiber laser using a MOPA (Master Oscillator Power Amplifier) structure is the core technology. This allows for precise and independent control of pulse width (pulse duration) and frequency.
By precisely controlling laser parameters (such as power, speed, frequency, pulse width, and fill spacing), the heating process and oxidation degree of the metal surface can be precisely controlled, resulting in a specific oxide film thickness and the desired color.

Main Applicable Metal Materials
Stainless steel: The most ideal and commonly used substrate. It can produce a wide range of colors, from gold, blue, red, green, to black. The color is closely related to the chromium content in the stainless steel.
Titanium and titanium alloys: They offer excellent results, especially producing vibrant blue, green, gold, and purple. They are widely used in medical implants and high-end consumer products.
Chromium: They can also produce a rich variety of colors.
Aluminum: It can usually only produce black or darker colors, making it difficult to achieve multi-color effects.
Rare metals such as tungsten and tantalum are also used.
